For this project it was necessary that a little girl picks up a miniature couch, take a look at it, and then she had to put it back on the ground.
It was real fun to work on this project because the miniature couch needed to be CG and I had to think of a way to make it believable.
I came up with an octaeder (the shape of the box she is holding) with tracking markers on it, so there is always data in 3 dimensions facing towards the camera while a cubes could fail this job.
The tracking was done in Syntheyes, the modelling in 3DS Max. Rotoscoping was done with Mocha4AE and compositing was done in After Effects.
